Romain Braud talks about the future of DeFi altcoin projects

Arab Bank Switzerland was founded in 1962 and was Arab Bank Group’s first international partnership, with assets of $49 billion as of 2018. Preparing to offer its customers tokens of DeFi altcoin projects, Arab Bank’s Swiss arm is taking an important step in the corporate DeFi world and emphasizing that DeFis are the future of traditional financial institutions. In a statement made during the day, Romain Braud, the bank’s director of crypto assets, said that offering DeFi tokens to customers and increasing participation in yield-producing protocols are the first steps. Braud shared the following about the future of the industry in an interview:

For now, the idea is just for our clients to buy, sell and hold some of the leading DeFi altcoin tokens. However, we believe that traditional financial institutions will be replaced by these protocols in the near future and we want to be a part of this change. So naturally we want to delve deeper into such decentralized services in the future.

  • Besides dealing with BTC and ETH, Arab Bank Switzerland also offers staking on Tezos Blockchain.
