Giant step in internet speed from Google!

Worldwide internet speed is now moving to different dimensions. Internet speeds have been increasing exponentially over the years. Google Fiber company is also preparing to launch its high-speed internet service in certain regions in the coming period.

Google Fiber offers symmetrical upload and download speed

Google is starting to offer its 5Gbps internet plan, which they started in October last year. As part of the service, high-speed internet will first be available in four cities in the US. The coverage of the internet service, which has a monthly subscription fee of $125, is expected to expand towards the end of the year.

The new 5Gbps speed internet service offered by Google Fiber has already started to be used in the US cities of Kansas, West Des Moines and Utah. The internet service, which offers symmetrical upload and download speeds, is installed with an improved special internet connection box, a WiFi 6 router and two network extenders.

While 5Gbps is excessive for most homes, it can come in handy for professionals or gamers who need minimal latency or transfer large files frequently. For example, downloading a 150GB file that takes about 10 minutes at 2Gbps would only take 4 minutes under ideal conditions at 5Gbps.

Google aims to be one step ahead in the internet race with its symmetrical upload feature. On the other hand, it is stated that the work continues for the 8Gbps internet option that the company announced last year. Google’s 8Gbps service will also support symmetric uploads.

Comcast, which is Google’s biggest competitor in terms of speed, already offers 6Gbps internet speed. However, this service does not offer symmetrical download and upload speeds, and is well above Google Fiber with its $300 price.
