Crypto exchanges continue to cooperate with companies that have a voice on a global scale. Finally, the cryptocurrency exchange of Gate.io the parent company behind Gate Groupthrough its Lithuanian-based company Gate Global UAB. Gateway Visa announced that it will issue a crypto debit card.
Cryptocurrency Exchange Gate.io Launches Visa Crypto Debit Card in Europe
According to the statement made by Gate, a waiting list and registration process has been opened for users in the European Economic Area.
Cuy Sheffield, Visa’s head of crypto, stated that the payments giant “want to act as a bridge between the crypto ecosystem and our global network of investors and financial institutions.”
“With programs like the Gate Visa debit card, Gate Group debit card holders are offered a seamless way to transform and use their digital assets to pay for goods and services wherever Visa is accepted,” he added.
According to the company’s press release, the Gate Visa crypto debit card will offer users competitive exchange rates and low fees.
The card also comes with a host of security features such as two-factor authentication, real-time transaction alerts, and freezing and unfreezing the card in case of loss or theft.
Gate is not the first crypto company to offer a crypto debit card. Crypto.com has been offering a similar service for years, and Ledger recently joined forces with Baanx to offer its own CL card.
The Gate Visa crypto debit card is currently available to residents of the European Economic Area, and the company plans to expand the service to other regions in the future.
The launch of the card comes after the company recently entered the US market, where it set up a fully regulated crypto exchange in 2022.
