Germany shows a new self-confidence in arms deliveries to Kiev

Brussels, London, Berlin, Paris Boris Pistorius used his first appearance as Defense Minister at a NATO meeting in Brussels to clarify: “I want to emphasize it again,” said the SPD politician on German military aid to Ukraine, “Germany is at the top of the European Union the supporters, and by a clear margin.” Behind the USA, they are “on par with Great Britain”.

The minister, who has been in office for three weeks, exudes a new German self-confidence when it comes to arms deliveries. The federal government no longer wants to be driven into this debate, but rather appear to set the pace, both nationally and internationally. So far, Great Britain and France in particular have presented themselves as European leaders.
