Brussels According to insiders, after the routine maintenance of the gas pipeline Nord Stream 1, Russia wants to supply gas to Europe again. However, this will happen at a reduced level, two people familiar with the Russian export plans told the Reuters news agency.

The Russian gas monopolist Gazprom had already cut the capacity of deliveries through Nord Stream 1 to 40 percent last month and attributed this to the maintenance of a turbine.

“They (Gazprom) will return to the level seen before July 11,” said one of the insiders. On July 11, gas flows through the pipeline were shut down for maintenance.

The prospect of an early resumption of Russian supplies via Nord Stream 1 is hurting the gas price. The European future falls by 3.1 percent to 154.25 euros per megawatt hour.
