Four ways to spread the risk better

Dusseldorf The world stock index MSCI World is intended to reflect the world markets. In practice, however, US stocks account for two-thirds of the value. In particular, the large tech companies Apple, Tesla, Microsoft and Alphabet are overweighted. The cluster risk in the global stock index has been known for some time and is a frequently mentioned point of criticism. Investors can minimize this risk by adding to their portfolio.

Our investment specialist, Andreas Neuhaus, explains how this can be achieved in an interview with Handelsblatt Today host Lena Jesberg. He presents four ways to diversify investments in the MSCI World.

These each have special characteristics: “Equally weighted ETFs have a cushioning effect,” and “Small caps are much more flexible than the really big tankers,” explains Neuhaus. In today’s episode you will find out what these two additions are all about and what the two other options look like.

Also: Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the official annexation of around 15 percent of Ukrainian territory at a large ceremony. It is about the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions. “It was not a permissible act under international law. But how can the West react now? “We’ve pretty much come to the end when it comes to the sanction screws. There’s actually hardly any room left to increase the pressure,” says the Russia expert. In an interview, he explains how likely it is that nuclear weapons will be used.
