As US officials investigate the collapse of FTX, Daniel Friedberg, former chief attorney of FTX, He collaborated with US prosecutors.

According to Reuters, a person with knowledge of the matter said that Daniel Friedberg gave details about FTX at a meeting with investigators on November 22.

The source said that the meeting, held at the US Attorney General’s office for the Southern District of New York, was attended by officials from the Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

At the meeting, Friedberg told prosecutors what he knew about SBF’s use of client funds to finance their business, the former CEO of FTX, according to the report.

It was also stated that Friedberg described conversations he had with other senior executives of FTX and gave details on how FTX’s sister company, Alameda Research, works.

Former FTX attorney Daniel Friedberg has not been charged with any crime and is not under criminal investigation.

However, Friedberg is expected to be summoned as a government witness to the SBF’s October 2023 hearing.

According to an email seen by Reuters, Friedberg wrote to FTX the day after FTX filed for bankruptcy, asking the company to waive its privilege to cooperate with prosecutors. FTX did not, however, and agreed with Friedberg on points where he could speak openly to investigators.

However, Daniel Friedberg, who did not comply with this agreement, wrote an e-mail to the FBI agent saying that he wanted to cooperate in every aspect and at every point.

One of SBF’s closest associates, apart from Friedberg, the former attorney of FTX, Caroline Ellison, former CEO of Alameda REsearch and Gary Wang, former chief technology officer of FTXhad agreed to cooperate by confessing to the fraud crimes charged against them.
