For the 66th birthday: Gates lets guests fly in with helicopters – people

You have to be able to afford morals …

Microsoft founder Bill Gates (66) is an eco-thought leader. In his private life, he lets it rip regardless of CO2 problems. Just like on his 66th birthday shortly before the climate summit.

Gates celebrated this in the “Sea Me Beach Club” in Fethiye (Turkey). He had the 50 guests flown in with helicopters from the rented yacht “Lana”.

The ship is 107 meters (350 feet) long and has eight luxurious cabins that can accommodate 12 guests. Gates is currently renting the ship for 1.7 million euros per week, reports the Turkish newspaper “Daily Sabeh”.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos (57), whose yacht “Flying Fox” is in front of Gökova, also flew the 32 kilometers with a helicopter.

By the way: The “Flying Fox” is even bigger than the “Lana”. She is 136 meters long and has 12 cabins and a 12 meter swimming pool.

Back on the mega yacht, Jeff Bezos naturally also went by helicopter. This emitted 97.5 kilos of carbon dioxide. Caused a little more than a German in four days.

A few days ago, students were allowed to download Bill Gates’ latest book for free. This appeared on February 16. The title: “How to avoid a climate disaster” (German: How the climate disaster is prevented).

Does the book also say avoiding unnecessary helicopter flights?
