According to experts, the earnings prospects for Hermés, BNP Paribas, Infineon, Eni and BBVA have improved significantly.

Dusseldorf The Euro Stoxx 50 has gained 15 percent in the past three months, its American counterpart, the Dow Jones, only six percent. Over a six-month period, the lead is twelve to four percent. That’s unusual given that US markets have consistently outperformed Europe for the past 15 years.

One reason for the change in leadership is the better earnings prospects for companies in Europe as fears of a severe recession dissipate. From Europe’s most important index, the Handelsblatt has filtered out the companies for which the profit forecasts have improved the most over the past six months.
