Berlin – Now it’s getting serious! The first autumn storm is rolling towards Germany – and could shake us up quite a bit …

But first it gets really mild again.

Germany is doing a weather somersault!

Hoch Philine brings again golden October weather. In many federal states there is again T-shirt weather at over 20 degrees.

At the Bavarian edge of the Alps, the temperatures on Wednesday can even climb up to 25 degrees locally, on the Upper Rhine to 24 degrees.

The reason for this is the “foehn conditions”, which bring mild air into the Alpine region from the west, explained a spokesman for the German Weather Service (DWD).

But then calamity threatens: “The wind is slowly picking up from the west / north-west on Wednesday,” said Dominik Jung from wetter.net. “We really experience a roller coaster in the weather!”

According to Jung, gusts of up to 110 km / h threaten on Thursday night, even in the lowlands. “And that is wind force 11 – a hurricane-like storm,” said the meteorologist. At higher altitudes, such as the Harz, it should even blow at up to 150 kilometers per hour.

Highlight: Thursday morning! Then heavy gusts of up to 100 km / h are expected in the north and especially in the northeast.

Jung: “It’s getting rough around the capital, in Berlin and Brandenburg.”

Storm damage can paralyze rail traffic

The meteorologist warns that storm damage can occur, which can affect road traffic and rail connections.

At the weekend the weather roller coaster continues, it gets colder.

Jung: “After this warm storm, the polar air rushed to us in Germany. It can then even snow. “
