Aiming to take the competition with Qualcomm and Samsung to a different dimension, MediaTek introduced its most powerful chip ever. The new model, which is quite powerful compared to previous Dimensity chips, exceeds expectations on paper.
MediaTek Dimensity 9000 features
MediaTek, which is mostly seen in mid-segment devices, has been very active in the high-end smartphone market with the Dimensity 1000 series for a while. The Dimensity 1000 series, which could not fully compete with the Snapdragon 800 series, left its place to the Dimensity 9000.
The new processor uses Arm’s v9 architecture. Introduced in March 2021 Arm v9 architecture was designed specifically for AI-powered operations. Arm v9, which is more efficient and approximately 30 percent faster than the Arm v8 architecture, is one of the biggest innovations of the Dimensity 9000 processor.
Dimensity 9000, the first mobile processor produced by TSMC with 4nm technology, is also the first product with Arm’s new core design. MediaTek announced that it uses 3 different cores in the Dimensity 9000 processor.
On the new processor 1 pc 3.05GHz Arm Cortex-X2 performance core, 3 pcs 2.85GHz Arm Cortex-A710 and 4 pieces It has a 1.8GHz Arm Cortex-A510 efficiency core. The processor, which comes with the 18-bit Imagiq Gen 7 ISP, 320 Megapixel image It has the feature of being the first chip that can capture. Stating that the Dimensity 9000 can transfer data at 9 Gigapixels per second, the company is quite assertive about camera performance.
Dimensity 9000 supports Release 16 specification of 3GPP 5G modem owner. The new processor unfortunately lags behind its competitors by offering sub-6GHz 5G support.
Dimensity 9000, the first mobile processor to support Bluetooth 5.3 technology, appeared with Wi-Fi 6E. The new processor’s competitor, the Snapdragon 898, will be introduced on November 30.
