Female revolution at the top of the Dax – the 16 new board members

The 16 new Dax board members

The Dax has never been as feminine as it is now. These women show how to get to the top of German companies.

Women are advancing to the absolute top positions in the German economy – what seemed an impossible goal for a long time is increasingly becoming the norm. Not only because Helen Giza and Belen Garijo are currently two women who run Dax companies – Fresenius Medical Care and Merck.

But mainly because since the beginning of 2022, for the first time, as many women as men have joined the boards of Dax40 companies – 16, namely. 59 board members now work in 60 posts. This unequal count is due to the fact that Giza holds a dual role – as CEO at FMC and CFO at parent company Fresenius.

Although 59 women are significantly fewer than the 199 male board members, it is still a record number.

The Dax has never been more feminine. What’s more, the female board members are younger than their male counterparts, highly educated, internationally oriented and occupy key positions in the company.
