FCN: Former goalkeeping coach. Now he’s supposed to get the strikers going | Sports

The worm is stuck in the storm of 1. FC Nürnberg!

The club has scored a meager 16 goals this season. This is the worst value in the league. Although nine goals go to the attacking duo Kwadwo Duah (6) and Christoph Daferner (3), the balance sheet is still clearly expandable.

That’s why the club strikers now get extra tutoring! From the start of the second half of the season preparations next week, Gerald Huber (57) will be an additional assistant coach for the club. The “Nürnberger Nachrichten” reported about it first.

Huber comes on a fee basis and is usually supposed to take care of improving the weakness of the FCN conclusion twice a week. He and coach Markus Weinzierl (47) know each other very well and have already worked together in Regensburg and at FC Augsburg.

Ripe is live from 12/6/2022 Bierhoff gone! Is Sammer coming now?

Somewhat surprising: Huber was used as a goalkeeping coach by both clubs in the past. But now his work should ensure more goals. Sport Director Dieter Hecking (58) explains: “He has already taken on various tasks in Augsburg under Markus. His focus is on individual player development. Among other things, he got Michael Gregoritsch, who was in poor shape at the time, back on track.”

BILD also knows that the commitment of Huber alone should not be enough in the fight against the lack of goals. Weinzierl would like to have an additional winger with a lot of speed. It is unlikely that this will open at the Valznerweiher in the coming week. The same applies to the goalkeeper that is still being sought and the defensive midfielder (see extra report).

The winter transfer window doesn’t open until January 1st.
