Dani Alves (38) will play for FC Barcelona again in the future. The Catalans reported on late Friday evening.
“Back in DA house!” Wrote Barcelona on its official Instagram account.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Alves, who is currently without a club and is therefore immediately eligible to play, and the Catalans have agreed on a contract until the end of the season – which can be extended by an option until summer 2023.
Barça’s new coach Xavi (40), with whom Alves once went on the hunt for the title, had spoken out in favor of signing the aging Brazilian.
Alves played in Barcelona from 2008 to 2016, during which time he won the Champions League three times, the championship six times and the Copa del Rey four times.
The right-back was under contract with São Paulo FC until last September. Now the unexpected comeback with his financially and athletically troubled club of the hearts.
