Of course, not only AFAD, but dozens of institutions have clothing, food and cash aid packages. Potentially hundreds of millions of TL can be collected through these institutions. The scammers, who took advantage of people’s pain and request for help, started to open fake websites of institutions.
Earthquake opportunism started: Attorney General’s Office opened an investigation!
Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation against sellers and bus companies selling goods at exorbitant prices after the earthquake.
For example, the site in the image above that says it has created a so-called Earthquake Help Point named afaddestek.net is not the official site of AFAD. Because the internet sites of state institutions end in the form of gov.tr. For this reason, you should only donate and help using platforms that you have received confirmation and are sure of their accuracy.
