Europe continues to transfer millions of euros to Gazprom every day

Dusseldorf, Berlin The Russian energy company Gazprom still earns a lot of money with its gas exports to Europe, despite reduced delivery volumes. Last Friday, the state-owned company took in around 180 million euros with gas deliveries to Europe. Exactly one week earlier it was around 185 million euros. This is the result of a calculation made by the market research company ICIS for the Handelsblatt.

So Gazprom’s income was just under three percent less – even though the gas volumes delivered fell by more than 30 percent during this period. The reason: due to the throttled gas deliveries, there is less gas on the market, and at the same time there are growing concerns about gas bottlenecks in winter. That drives the prices.
