The prosperity of Germany depends to a large extent on industry. But this is deep in crisis.

  • Energy costs in Germany and Europe will remain permanently higher than in large parts of the rest of the world. At the same time, the shortage of skilled workers and the crippling bureaucracy endanger German industry. Depending on how the government acts, there are different scenarios for Germany as a business location:
  • If the state subsidizes with the watering can, the industry survives – but it becomes sluggish and unproductive.
  • If the state lets the industry down – then important sectors have no chance of survival.
  • However, if the state governs with a sense of proportion, industry can regain strength.

Gas and electricity prices are slowly falling again, as is inflation. The coming months will be tough, if not as tough as the worst warners had feared. But what happens afterwards?
