Elon Musk on Twitter: “I’m buying Manchester United”

austin Tech billionaire Elon Musk has tweeted that he wants to buy British football club Manchester United. “I’m also buying Manchester United. You’re welcome,” wrote the 51-year-old on Wednesday night on the social network. It wasn’t clear at first if he was being serious or just joking.

In the same Twitter thread, he previously shared: “To be clear, I support the left half of the Republican Party and the right half of the Democratic Party!” -me” information.

The market capitalization of the English record champions was 2.08 billion dollars at the close. Musk is known for not always taking his announcements on Twitter seriously. It wasn’t immediately clear if he was seeking a deal. Manchester United did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment. The club is majority owned by the US Glazer family. This is criticized by fans because the team does not show the desired performance on the pitch. Some fans had therefore asked Musk to buy Manchester United instead of Twitter.

The Tesla boss is considered eccentric and unpredictable. For example, Musk is currently in a legal dispute with Twitter himself because he wants to call off the roughly $44 billion takeover of the short message service.
