Elon Musk gave the date for the new flight of the Starship spacecraft

Testing Starship with the Super Heavy Booster last month, SpaceX is one step closer to its Mars mission. Elon Musk has given a date for their new flight using Starship and Super Heavy Booster.

A Starship prototype, labeled SN15, successfully landed on May 5, 2021, completing its high-altitude flight (in the Earth’s atmosphere). Since then, Musk and SpaceX have continued to work on Starship’s first flight with a Super Heavy Booster.

SpaceX successfully passed the static fire test of the Spaceship rocket’s Super Heavy thrusters.

Having completed the tests, SpaceX will receive a launch license for Starship from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the next phase. The FAA, which issued the provisional license in June, announced that a total of 75 changes were required for the new license.

When Starship and Super Heavy launch together, the test flight will send the first one for a short trip into orbit, and then make a splash off the coast of Hawaii. Super Heavy will return to attempt a landing on a modified oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico.
