Transfer battle for Braunschweig’s Pherai
In the summer, nobody except Eintracht Braunschweig had him on their list.
Immanuel Pherai (21) has now become a coveted object. The Dutchman (four goals, three assists) is Braunschweig’s jewel in the squad. From Eintracht’s point of view, it was to be feared that other clubs would notice this.

Transfer fight for Pherai opened
The Dutchman came to BTSV from Borussia Dortmund II on a free transfer in July. His contract runs until June 30, 2024. However, it includes a buy-out clause that can take effect for the first time in summer 2023. A sum in the high six-digit range allows the midfield magician to leave Eintracht early.
Again and again scouts from Bundesliga clubs appear in the stands at Braunschweig home games. Recently, there have been rumors that Pherai should have aroused the interest of Mainz 05, Bayer Leverkusen and FC Augsburg. Concrete and official inquiries have not yet landed at Eintracht.
When it comes to Pherai, the Braunschweig team is faced with a complicated balancing act. On the one hand, a transfer fee in winter would be far higher than the summer clause in the contract – there would be talk of 3 million euros in January. Good coal for the often scarce club account.
On the other hand, Pherai is one of the most important professionals in the squad when it comes to staying up. A relegation would tear a budget hole at Eintracht simply because of the then decreasing TV money.
