Economics Minister Habeck in an interview at the energy summit

Berlin Since the start of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, the energy sector has been a major focus: socially, economically and also politically. Concerns that Germany does not have sufficient energy sources strongly influenced the decisions of the federal government in the past year. This also applies to concerns about the affordability of electricity and gas. Among other things, new supply contracts were concluded with Qatar, new liquid gas terminals were built and the company Uniper was nationalized.

At the same time, urgent investments in renewable energies must be made and the infrastructure must be adapted to the hope of hydrogen. On the other hand, the demand for simplified approval procedures has become even louder everywhere.

At the Handelsblatt Energy Summit 2023, Handelsblatt Editor-in-Chief Sebastian Matthes will talk to Federal Economics and Energy Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) about these questions and, above all, about possible answers. Be there live here from 12.30 p.m.:
