Dusseldorf The Ebay classifieds portal wants to compete with the market leader Immoscout24 and, above all, wants to grow significantly in the lucrative business with real estate agents. Managing Director Paul Heimann says in an interview with the Handelsblatt: “The figures from the past year show that the moment has now come to attack as a hidden champion.”

Ebay classifieds has 36 million visitors every month, making it one of the most popular websites in Germany. According to the company, 15 million of these visitors are in the real estate category.

Immoscout24 has over 20 million users per month. Heimann already sees himself at an advantage when it comes to ads from private individuals: “We have been the number one for private real estate offers for years.”

Strategically, the company wants to grow significantly, especially in business with brokers, and thus increase the proportion of paying customers. In total, more than 9,000 real estate professionals use the portal as a sales channel, with 2,000 added in the past year alone.
