Downtime Altcoin Started to Lose Value!

Coming to the agenda with frequent interruptions wither network recently experienced a similar outage. A misconfigured node caused the entire network to crash on Saturday, and the network went offline. It is not possible for validators to process transactions when the network is offline. The developer team asked the validators to restart the Mainnet and it is known that at least 80% stake is needed to restart. As a result, the price of Solana (SOL) has dropped over 6% in the last 24 hours.

Solana Network Outage Is Unstoppable

Koinfinans.com As we reported, the Solana blockchain recorded its fourth outage this year, almost a year after the September 14 outage that took the entire network offline for 18 hours. In a tweet on October 1, Solana Status announced that the Solana network was experiencing an outage and had problems with operations. The developers continue to work to diagnose and fix the problem.

In a subsequent tweet, the Solana team shared instructions for Mainnet beta validators to restart the Solana Mainnet-beta cluster. Validators need to search the logs for the optimistically confirmed highest slot “153139220”.

Solana validator Laine reported in a series of tweets that a misconfigured node caused an unrecoverable partition in the network. The validators also noted that they had difficulty with consensus because the validator was running a duplicate validator instance.

“The Solana blockchain’s mesh network will restart slot 153139220, the latest confirmed slot. A misconfigured node caused an unrecoverable partition on the network. Validators, please join in finding consensus on relevant data.”

According to Laine’s validator tracking platform Stakewiz.com, developers are already starting to roll out the reboot. However, the Solana network reboot is only 57% complete. For the network to be online, the visible active share must reach 80%.

Solana, once referred to as the “Ethereum killer,” is drastically losing trust among the crypto community. In fact, Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko has voiced their bad luck earlier, noting that network outages have become a curse for them.

SOL price is down more than 87% from its all-time high in November. SOL price dropped over 6% after the network outage. At the time of writing, the price is trading at $32. Solana price could drop further if the reboot doesn’t happen soon.
