Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq: US stock exchanges lose after Fed decision

Frankfurt After a short recovery, the US prices give way again: Shortly before the close of trading, the most important indices are again in the red. After initial price slides shortly after the announcement of another XXL interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve, US stocks were initially listed more firmly again.

After an initial minus of around one percent, the index of the Nasdaq technology exchange even rose significantly above the value at the start of trading and was finally down almost one percent again at 9:40 p.m. German time. After a brief recovery, the other indices are also in the red again. The Dow Jones index was down up to 0.8 percent in the evening, the S&P 500 more than one percent.

The US Federal Reserve has raised its key interest rate by 0.75 percentage points for the third time in a row. Analysts had largely expected this move. Because the inflation problem in the USA is proving to be more stubborn than expected with a recent price increase rate of 8.3 percent.
