Frankfurt The US stock exchanges reacted to the Federal Reserve’s renewed interest rate hike with price declines, but caught up again after a short time. After an initial minus of 1.8 percent, the index of the Nasdaq technology exchange even rose significantly above the value at the start of trading and was up 0.9 percent at around 11,500 points at 9 p.m. German time.

The US Federal Reserve has raised its key interest rate by 0.75 percentage points for the third time in a row. Analysts had largely expected this move. Because the inflation problem in the USA is proving to be more stubborn than expected with a recent price increase rate of 8.3 percent.

The other indices also recovered after a brief slide in prices. Shortly after the Fed’s decision, the Dow Jones index of standard values lost a good one percent to around 30,450 points. The broader S&P 500 initially fell 1.5 percent to just over 3800 points. Both later turned positive again.
