In 2021, Apple introduced its product called AirTag to find lost items. Apart from finding lost items, AirTag is also used by Apple customers to prevent cats, dogs and children from getting lost. Recently, AirTag saved a life by performing exactly this kind of function.
Dog lost in flood found thanks to AirTag
Although not recommended by Apple, AirTag is used to prevent the loss of children and pets. Therefore, the navigation has other functions besides finding lost items. The dog that disappeared recently was found thanks to AirTag.
AirTag rescued a shepherd dog named Seamus in the flood that occurred in California, USA recently. The dog, which was flooded and lost during the walk, was dragged for more than a kilometer and disappeared from view.
The owner tracked the location of his place thanks to an AirTag attached to a dog named Seamus. Then he was rescued from the sewer pit, where he fell, with the help of firefighters. After this incident, social media accounts were shared that AirTag or other ID cards are effective in preventing the loss of pets.
On the other hand, Apple does not recommend using AirTag products for such functions. Because, according to the company, AirTag products do not come with a built-in GPS technology. That’s why navigation products need a nearby smartphone to work.
In addition, according to recent reports, Apple is working on a second generation AirTag. Because these products have become highly used by people by preventing loss and theft in many areas. Innovations such as battery life improvements are expected for the second generation AirTags.
