Dusseldorf It is the nightmare scenario for millions of households in the coming winter: Because there is no longer enough gas available, the heating fails.
A safety valve that is installed in every domestic gas network could be to blame. The so-called gas shortage protection closes when the pressure is too low – and thus switches off the heating.
Because gas pipes work in a similar way to water pipes: only if the pressure is high enough does everyone get something.

In many cases, only qualified personnel can open the valve again so that the gas flows again – if there is enough.
