Dispute over combustion engines between BMW, Volkswagen and Daimler

Dusseldorf Eleven car manufacturers, 24 states and 38 regions and cities signed a declaration on emission-free vehicles at the World Climate Conference in Glasgow on Wednesday – and thus ushered in the end of the internal combustion engine. The federal government is not one of the signatories. Daimler has participated from the major German car manufacturers. BMW and Volkswagen are not included.

“The Glasgow Declaration does not conflict with what we have already said,” said Ola Källenius at the Handelsblatt Auto Summit on Wednesday. The Daimler boss sees the chance to produce exclusively fully electric vehicles by 2035.
