Queen Elizabeth news: Kate pictured for first time since Windsor move as Her Majesty skips beloved event

PRINCE WILLIAM and Kate are settling into their new home with their children, while the Queen was forced to pull out of a favourite event.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have moved to a cosy cottage, not far from the Queen’s main residence in Windsor.

Kate and William’s children Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte will be attending a new school, the Lambrook, in Berkshire.

It is thought the new move will give the family some well needed privacy, surrounded by the lush sprawling grounds of the Crown Estate.

Kate was spotted taking a drive around the Windsor grounds, near her home this weekend.

Meanwhile, her Majesty the Queen will not be attending Scotland’s Braemar Gathering this year, in the Highlands.

Although it is a vital part of the Highland Games, and is one of the Queen’s much loved events, Prince Charles will take her place.

Mobility concerns meant the Prince of Wales had to take over from the Queen, the Firm announced.

The Monarch recently said she will be appointing the new Prime Minister from Balmoral on September 5.

A source told the Daily Mail that the Queen’s mobility “condition” is not “ideal,” but she is doing well considering her Majesty is “96 after all.”
