Queen Elizabeth news: Her Majesty leads Garter service & stunned fans all say same thing

THE Queen was pictured ahead of the Garter ceremony today and fans were so impressed with her appearance despite ‘ongoing mobility issues’.

While Her Majesty kept out of the public eye, she stunned onlookers with her appearance in a photo taken before the ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

The Queen was absent from the public celebration of the Order of the Garter, as more than 4,500 spectators flocked into Windsor, Berkshire, to join traditional festivities that date back to the 1300s.

When a photo of the Queen posing alongside her son, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla was released, fans were stunned by how “beautiful” she looked.

Fans loved her silver outfit, saying how “wonderful” and “lovely” she looked as her matching outfit glimmered.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: “She looks stunning today!”

Another said: “Love her silver heels.”

A third added: “Oh my HM looks beautiful!”

Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall, was made Royal Lady of the Order of the Garter.

The honour the Queen appointed Camilla is rarely given and mainly only to those who are the monarch’s spouse.

It comes after the Queen also told the public that when Prince Charles becomes King, Camilla will be appointed as Consort.

In a video Mike was seen showing the Queen what appeared to be a miniature top hat, which was made entirely of chocolate.

Speaking to the Telegraph at the time, the dad-of-two said: “It is a chocolate hat that I am taking home for my daughter Mia.

“I was given it at lunch but it is really annoying to store in a pocket so I decided to put it in my top hat instead.”

While Harry & Meghan may not be too popular, even they don’t compare to Prince Andrew

27% of Brits called him the worst royal, he was followed by Meghan Markle who shared 18% of the vote.

Commentator Nile Gardiner, a former Margaret Thatcher aide, tweeted: “Meghan Markle is now the second most unpopular member of the Royal Family with the British public, after Prince Andrew.

Mr Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk: “It has been a very tough period for the monarchy.

“The Jubilee was a triumph, but no one can deny that Andrew was a disaster and as far as the Sussexes were concerned that was serious.

  • Meghan and Harry ‘sidelined’ by ‘callous’ Firm

A royal expert has claimed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were “sidelined and marginalised” during the Queen’s platinum Jubilee celebrations in a “meticulously choreographed” plan.

In an interview with the Royally Us podcast, Royal author Christopher Anderson, said the royals were “callous” towards the couple.

Anderson said: “The whole world was watching and waiting to see if fences would be mended, if the Sussexes got back together with the rest of the family.

“From that standpoint, it was an unmitigated disaster. It’s hard to see how the Royal Family could’ve been any more callous towards the Sussexes.

“They were meticulously choreographed in every instant to be sidelined and marginalised.

“If Harry went to London’s Jubilee celebrations hoping to mend fences, that didn’t happen.”

  • William ‘still deeply upset’ about Harry & Meg quitting

PRINCE William is still “deeply upset” about Harry and Meghan quitting the Royal Family, a friend of the future King has said.

Harry and Meghan’s exit from royal life is still said to be raw for William.

A friend told The Times: “He’s still deeply upset about it and feels let down, but he’s moved on.”

A pal acknowledged Wills had been tense before the jubilee and was particularly worried for the service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral – the only event the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended publicly.

They said this was “because he was incredibly worried about having all the family there, and what everyone was going to say.”

The friend added: “He was so relieved that most of the media made it all about the Queen, Prince Charles and the children — they are the key people — and he was really pleased about that.”

It’s believed the Cambridge kids did not meet their cousins Archie, three, and one-year-old Lilibet last week.

  • Andrew blocked from return to duties

PRINCE ANDREW has asked the Queen to be reinstated as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards as he pushes for a return to royal duties, it has been reported.

The Duke of York has been lobbying the monarch for his status as a blood prince to be restored, the Telegraph reported.

A source said: “The colonelcy of the Grenadier Guards was his most coveted title and he wants it back. Having remained a Counsellor of State, he also believes he should be included at royal and state events.

“Most importantly for him is his status as an HRH and ‘Prince of the Blood’ and he feels that should be reinstated and his position recognised and respected.”

Meanwhile, it is understood that Prince Charles and Prince William have reportedly lobbied the Queen to prevent the Duke from appearing in public during today’s Order of the Garter ceremony.

He was expected to attend the event as a member of the Order.

However, the Queen apparently told him to stay out of sight “for his own good” after Charles and William raised fears of a public backlash.

As a result the Duke, 62, is likely to only attend private aspects of the ceremony in Windsor.
