A ROYAL author has suggested that the queen is starting to get “fed up” with a certain aspect of royal visits.
Her Majesty is said to be growing tired of her famous Walkabouts, an event set up by her in the 70s, which see the Queen interact with the public and exchange a few words.
According to Royal author Ian Lloyd, people no longer want to speak with the Monarch, and would rather “have their phones out”.
He told the Express: “These days people only want selfies and photographs of her, they just hold up their cameras or, even more alarming, their iPads so she is faced with a wall of that when she looks at the crowd, it’s horrible.
“Princess Anne once said that, because of their phones, people now only actually believe they have seen something if they can photograph it so they lose the immediacy, their memory.”
Currently, it is unknown if the Queen will continue with her Walkabouts during the Jubilee, due to her reported mobility issues.

Netflix’s filming crew and cameras descended on their Montecito home in the US.
The docuseries is highly anticipated and should be released at the same time as Harry’s book.

Chaos at Queen’s Jubilee practice
A woman is said to have been injured after falling through a stand during a review of Trooping the Colour.
According to reports, crowds have been excavated in order to give emergency services access to the area.
The event, which involves the Household Division and Horse Guards, is set to take place on June 2nd for the Queens Platinum Jubilee.
It remains to be see if any more people were injured during the accident.

‘Royal Family providing accommodation to Ukrainian refugees’
In an act of kindness, the Royal Family are reportedly providing accommodation for those feeling war-torn Ukraine.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman told the Express: “We are assisting in a number of ways but will not be commenting further.”
Since Putin began his unjustifiable invasion of Ukraine, over 53,000 Ukrainians have arrived in the UK seeking refuge.
This echoes the choice made by the Royal Family during the Second World War, as Buckingham Palace became home to a group of refugees.

A source close to the Royal family spoke on the Queen’s need to take it easy ahead of June.
The royal insider told US Weekly: “[She] is still adjusting to her routine and charging up her batteries even now.
“The other factor here is that she wanted to be as close to full strength as possible for the Jubilee celebrations, which she’s been looking forward to immensely.
“By not [overexerting] herself it’s giving her more energy to participate in as many of the events as possible.”

A royal expert has stated that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are “trying to control” the narrative surrounding their Jubilee balcony snub.
The Telegraph’s Associate Editor Camilla Tominey has claimed the timing of the Sussex’s announcement was “more than a coincidence”.
She added: “The timing of the Sussexes saying that they would come to the Platinum Jubilee celebrations has been interesting because what happened in the first instance is that Buckingham Palace released a statement saying that the only people would end up on the balcony were those who will still working members of the Royal Family notably, not Harry and Meghan.
“We then got a statement issued by their people from LA saying that they are going to come and it seemed as if the timing was more than coincidence.
“This idea that initially the Buckingham Palace are trying to control the narrative then the Sussexes are trying to control it.”

Eight towns to become cities for the Platinum Jubilee
In celebration of Her Majesty’s reign, eight of Britain’s towns are to be declared cities.
Milton Keynes in England, Dunfermline in Scotland, Bangor in Northern Ireland and Wrexham in Wales all feature on the list.
Colchester and Doncaster will also be granted the honour.
