Dusseldorf The German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence enjoys an almost flawless reputation in politics and business. It is “leading in research on artificial intelligence”, said the Rhineland-Palatinate Prime Minister Malu Dreyer (SPD). “We rely on the DFKI as an innovator and advisor,” says Federal Research Minister Anja Karliczek (CDU). Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier (CDU) praised the DFKI for the fact that it “broadcasts internationally”.

The DFKI describes itself as the world’s largest and most renowned scientific institution for artificial intelligence (AI). The federal government has high hopes for the center in the implementation of its AI strategy, for which the federal government plans to spend five billion euros by 2025.

All major German car manufacturers belong to the circle of shareholders of the research institute, which was founded as a non-profit GmbH in 1988, as do corporations such as Bosch, SAP, Google and Nvidia. BMW considers the DFKI to be “an excellent hub for initiating comprehensive research projects”.
