Dax is treading water – BASF and Covestro benefit from the gas price brake and are growing strongly

Dusseldorf The German stock market cannot defend its interim gains on Monday. The leading index Dax closed almost unchanged at 12,272 points.

Some investors grabbed again after Friday’s significant losses. For example, expert Andreas Lipkow saw the German stock market “in the heavily oversold area”. At its peak, the Dax rose to 12,411 points on Monday, but was unable to maintain this level and gave back its gains.

Among the biggest winners are the chemical companies BASF and Covestro, whose shares rose by more than six and eight percent respectively. Both companies would benefit from the gas price brake proposed by the Gas Expert Commission.
