Dax in downward mode – there is a risk of falling back below the 12,000 point mark

Dusseldorf The German stock market starts the new week without a clear direction. The leading index Dax oscillates on Monday around the closing price on Friday and is slightly up at 12,292 points in the late morning. The situation with the Frankfurt Stock Exchange Barometer is therefore still fragile.

The previous week, the Dax had closed 1.3 percent tighter at 12,273 points. The weekly plus was primarily based on the brilliant price jump on Tuesday, when the index had gained more than 400 percent. The profits are now almost completely processed again.

This means that the German stock market is looking down again, to the low for the year of 11,863 points, explains Jochen Stanzl, analyst at online broker CMC Markets: “It is now a matter of not falling below the low for the year in order to maintain the momentum of the strong upward movement of the past week not to be lost completely.”
