Dax companies want to heat less in winter

Because of the impending gas shortage, companies are considering reducing the temperature in their offices. Bayer and Daimler Truck already have concrete plans for this.

Berlin Due to the tense energy supply situation, the first DAX companies are planning to lower the room temperature in their offices for the winter. This is shown by a survey by the Handelsblatt among the 40 most important listed companies in the country.

For example, the chemical company Bayer and the vehicle manufacturer Daimler Truck have concrete plans to heat their company locations less than before. Other Dax companies are currently examining appropriate measures. Several companies are also talking about saving energy by working from home.

Germany is threatened with a bottleneck in the supply of natural gas this winter. Currently, only 20 percent of the possible volume of Russian gas flows through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline. Concerns that the gas crisis will worsen further, numerous measures are currently being discussed – one of them is to save energy in offices.
