Dax closes little changed after pulseless trading

Dusseldorf The leading German index took another breather on Wednesday. In a very lackluster trade, the leading index Dax went unchanged at 14,428 points.

The low trading volume was once again striking. The number of papers traded was around 51 million, as on Monday and Tuesday, well below the average of the past few weeks.

The trading volume is likely to remain low over the course of the stock market week. Lots of retailers are on vacation because tomorrow, Thursday, is Thanksgiving in the US, and the following Friday, many of them are spending the day at home or in the “Black Friday madness.”

However, a low trading volume does not necessarily mean low price fluctuations. On such days, stockbrokers with smaller orders can even cause higher fluctuations.
