Dax builds on the losses of the previous day and moves away from the 16,000 point mark

Dusseldorf Burdened by poor economic figures from Germany, the leading German index started Thursday with losses. Accordingly, Germany slipped into a recession in the first quarter. Half an hour after the stock market opened, the Dax is at 15,774 points and is down 0.4 percent on Wednesday’s closing price.

The short trip beyond 16,000 points seems to be over. Last Thursday, the Frankfurt stock exchange barometer pushed over the psychologically important limit and held for four trading days.

Last Friday it even reached a new record with 16,331 points. Since then, however, things have gone downhill.

Yesterday, Wednesday, the Dax even slipped back well below the 16,000 point threshold. It closed at 15,842 points, down almost two percent.
