In an email sent to the company’s alumni, which is available exclusively to Handelsblatt, it says: “Put simply: our business model is no longer suitable for the purposes of a modern company.” Today, the company, with 45,000 employees, is three times as big as it was ten years ago . The nature of counseling has also changed.

The e-mail, which was sent to the network of around 44,000 former McKinsey employees worldwide, also says self-critically: The business model has not been checked for a decade. They now want to use the currently transforming times for this purpose. The new business model will be “agile, simple, secure and of high quality and offer less repetition”.
