Competition Authority launched an investigation against Google

The Competition Authority, which has launched an investigation against many companies, especially unfair competition and monopolization, has added a new one to its investigations against Google. This time the investigationabuse its dominant position in the general search services market” was opened.

Google abuse investigation

The announcement dated February 2, 2023 on the Competition Authority’s website is as follows;

Alphabet Inc., Google LLC, Google International LLC, Google Ireland Limited and Google Advertising and Marketing Ltd. Ltd. Şti., by abusing its dominant position in the general search services market, the preliminary investigation was concluded by the Competition Board to determine whether it violated Article 6 of the Law No. 4054.

Discussing the information, documents and findings obtained in the preliminary research at its meeting dated 12.01.2023, the Competition Board found the findings serious and sufficient; Alphabet Inc., Google LLC, Google International LLC, Google Ireland Limited and Google Advertising and Marketing Ltd. Şti. with the number 23-03/27-M, to open an investigation about the economic integrity.
