Frankfurt Commerzbank pays its employees a tax-free bonus in view of increased energy and food prices. It is between 500 and 2000 euros and is to be paid out in December. This emerges from an article on the Commerzbank intranet, which is available in the Handelsblatt.

In order for Germany’s second largest private bank to achieve its strategic goals, a high level of cost discipline remains important, explained Sabine Schmittroth, Director of Human Resources in the article. “Therefore, the budget for additional bonuses this year is limited. It was important to me that we use the available budget in such a way that we relieve the lower wage groups more of the burden.”

Employees of the non-tariff service companies ComTS, the call center CDS and the conference hotel Collegium Glashütten should receive 2000 euros. Young professionals and employees of Commerzbank AG in Germany who are paid according to collective bargaining agreements receive EUR 1,000. 500 euros are paid to non-tariff employees in Germany and to employees abroad. Managers of the first and second management level get nothing.
