Cinema Giant AMC Officially Starts Receiving Payments With These Cryptocurrencies

In a recent tweet, Adam Aron announced that movie giant AMC Entertainment, beloved by many cryptocurrency enthusiasts, has officially accepted certain digital assets for online payments.

“Big news! As promised, there are many new ways to pay online at AMC NOW. We proudly accept these: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin. […] Next up is Dogecoin.”

The announcement of the new payment method was not a surprise because; Aron had mentioned this possibility many times in the past. In September, it said it plans to launch the said payment service by the end of the year.

The inclusion of Dogecoin in this tweet can be attributed to a recent Twitter poll initiated by the company’s CEO, Aron. In that poll, a question was asked about whether AMC would consider accepting DOGE, the poll received 140,000 votes, of which 68.1% said yes.

Earlier in November, AMC also said it was considering adding the shiba inu to the list, following strong demand from the SHIB military. Shiba inu is a new meme token that has had a stunning rally since the beginning of the year. Again, a Twitter poll was launched, and after 153,100 votes, 81% supported the idea. While there is a certainty for Dogecoin payments, SHIB payments remain unclear.

Finally, in late October, Aron also voiced the possibility that the cinema chain could issue its own crypto, although he did not provide further details. AMC shares are up 1,600% so far this year.
