Berlin The time of restraint is coming to an end. While the FDP was the last of the three traffic light parties to vote on Monday to start coalition negotiations, it also made claims. Should there be a coalition with the SPD and the Greens, FDP leader Christian Lindner will become federal finance minister.
The only problem is that there is a second contender in the form of the Greens chairman Robert Habeck. The conflict is now being carried out in public. He could not imagine anyone better than Lindner for the office of finance minister, said the parliamentary manager of the FDP, Marco Buschmann. FDP Vice Wolfgang Kubicki spoke of Lindner as the “ideal finance minister”.
