Chip makers are chasing $112 billion in sales

Munich An incredibly large business is tempting: The market researchers at Gartner expect the manufacturers to achieve sales of 112 billion dollars in four years with chips for artificial intelligence (AI). That is almost three times the sales that manufacturers achieved in 2022.

Investors are speculating that a significant portion of this will end up with Nvidia. The share price has more than doubled since the beginning of the year. As the first semiconductor group in the world, the US company is on the verge of reaching a market value of one trillion dollars.

Nvidia benefits from the hype surrounding AI applications like ChatGPT like no other chip company. Because the operators of the data centers make their machines fit for the data-hungry applications with the chips from Nvidia.

On Monday, Nvidia boss Jensen Huang also presented a whole range of AI products. Among other things, the most valuable chip manufacturer in the world wants to create a platform for supercomputers to help tech companies develop language models like ChatGPT.
