Despite all the administrative crises, OpenAI continues to introduce new features for ChatGPT. Accordingly, Advanced Voice Mode is also offered to ChatGPT Enterprise, Edu and Team users. The most important thing is that developers will now be able to create their own voice assistants. OpenAI didn’t forget about free ChatGPT users either.
ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode and voice assistant creation surprise from OpenAI
In its statement on Twitter, OpenAI offered the Advanced Sound Mode (AWM) feature, which appeared on September 25, to all users. Accordingly, Team, Enterprise and Edu users will also be able to use the feature, which was previously only available to Plus users. ChatGPT hasn’t forgotten its free ChatGPT users either. Free ChatGPT users will also have the chance to experience the Enhanced Voice Mode feature.
OpenAI also introduced new features for ChatGPT at its developer event yesterday. Sam Altman introduced these new features at a closed-door developer event held yesterday. Accordingly, developers will now have the opportunity to create voice assistants via ChatGPT. Thanks to this new API, which offers similar capabilities to Advanced Voice Mode, developers will have the opportunity to create their own voice assistants.
In fact, developers already have the opportunity to create voice assistants with ChatGPT. But for this, a developer had to create multiple APIs for speech recognition, text processing, and text-to-speech conversion. Thanks to the new API, it will now be possible to create a voice assistant at once without any hassle.
There are other new features for ChatGPT developers. One of these is the Model Distillation feature. Thanks to this feature, developers will have the opportunity to balance increasing costs while receiving high performance. Thanks to the feature, developers will be able to customize outputs from advanced models such as ChatGPT-4o and o1 preview with cheaper and smaller models such as ChatGPT-4o mini.
Yet another useful developer feature is Request Caching. Thanks to this feature, ChatGPT will speed up the output by remembering frequently made requests. OpenAI has also extended tweaks for ChatGPT-4o to include images. Thus, developers will also have the opportunity to customize ChatGPT-4o by feeding it with both custom images and text.
How do you find the new features for ChatGPT? Do you think OpenAI will be able to continue growing despite everything? We are waiting for your comments.
