The following arguments speak in favor of an optimistic attitude: Inflation in the USA has apparently passed its peak. In Europe, that may already be the case, as suggested by the latest data for November.

A recession is looming next year, but so much has already been written and talked about that prices should have adjusted accordingly. In addition, if inflation subsides, the central banks can take their foot off the brakes, which will help the economy and the markets.
