san francisco The office communication service Slack gets a new board. Company founder Stewart Butterfield is leaving his post in January, as the parent company Salesforce confirmed on Monday (local time).

Lidiane Jones, who already holds a senior management position, has been promoted to succeed her. “I’m proud to have been named Slack’s new CEO,” Jones tweeted. Slack’s mission remains to make working life “simpler, more enjoyable and more productive”.

Butterfield’s resignation was not well received by investors, however, who sent Salesforce shares down more than 7 percent on Monday. The SAP rival had already announced the departure of co-CEO Bret Taylor last week, which also caused displeasure on the stock exchange. The stock has plummeted nearly 50 percent this year.

In the future, the management of the group will only be in the hands of co-founder Marc Benioff as the sole chairman of the board of directors.
