Chancellor Olaf Scholz only reacts bit by bit

Olaf Scholz is considered stubborn to the point of denial of reality. At the beginning of the week, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas finally called for “strong leadership” from the Chancellor in her Berlin “Freedom Speech”. “Ukraine must win,” and “there are more big countries that can do more about it,” Kallas admonished her counterpart.

Each sentence of the prime minister could be underlined three times and provided with a large exclamation mark. Perhaps the appeals from our European neighbors were of some use. After all, the traffic light coalition and the Union voted together on Thursday for the delivery of heavy weapons to Ukraine.

So far, however, the Chancellor has not been deterred by the “boys and girls” who have complained about his passivity. From the West’s point of view, Germany’s reputation had already been damaged.
