Dusseldorf Hydrogen specialist Plug Power sees the market for green hydrogen at a turning point. CEO Andrew Marsh says in an interview with the Handelsblatt: “In the USA, green hydrogen can already be competitive in some cases.” This is also possible in Europe.

The US group is one of the largest hydrogen companies in the world. So far, however, Plug Power has mainly focused on the production of fuel cells, especially for forklifts. His customers include the retail giants Walmart and Amazon. Last year, the company made sales of 502 million US dollars – with the prospect of rapidly increasing demand, Marsh now wants to completely restructure the group.

From the production of electrolysers and fuel cells to the production of green hydrogen and trading, Plug Power should cover the entire value chain in the future. For 2025, Marsh expects sales of three billion dollars a year.
