Dusseldorf, Berlin At the beginning of September, the relationship between Henkel boss Carsten Knobel and his adhesives director Jan-Dirk Auris seemed to be completely harmonious. When the two top managers opened a new innovation center for the adhesives division, they exchanged friendly looks and pats on the back.

It is said to have cracked behind the scenes, as company and industry circles reported to the Handelsblatt. There is even talk of a power struggle between the two men.

This has now escalated: Auris’ contract will not be extended and will expire at the end of 2023. At the end of January 2023, Auris will end its activities. Henkel announced this on Friday evening at 5:30 p.m.

The Handelsblatt had known from company and industry circles for a few days that Auris had to leave the company. However, Henkel had not communicated this publicly, not even during the presentation of the quarterly figures on Tuesday.
