Dusseldorf The providers of mobile homes, caravans and camping equipment have never appeared so well equipped before the start of a trade fair. When the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf opens its doors to the 200,000 expected exhibition guests this Friday, no fewer than 735 exhibitors will be vying for attention at the world’s largest camping fair – 146 more than last year.
Producers such as Knaus Tabbert, Fendt or Hymer could save themselves the sales hype. Because supplier parts are not available due to fragile supply chains, they no longer serve the needs of many customers anyway.
Waiting times are so long that some campers are already switching to the simpler and more compact vans. The camper vans ordered as a replacement have the advantage that, unlike lavish motorhomes, they largely do without individually adapted components.
